Mental Health and Learning Disability
In recent years the framework for the delivery of health and social care services in Northern Ireland has changed.
On 1 April 2009, under the Health and Social Care Reform (Northern Ireland) Act 2009 the functions of the Mental Health Commission (MHC) transferred to the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).
RQIA worked in partnership with the Mental Health Commission to ensure there was a seamless transfer with no adverse impact on service users, their carers and providers.
Regular updates on the work of our Mental Health and Learning Disability team are available in the documents below. From 2011/12, Mental Health and Learning Disability updates will be provided twice per year.
