Public Participation

Public participation plays an important role in the work of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).  Through listening to and acting on the views and opinions of the public, RQIA will ensure that it responds to existing and emerging issues within health and social care (HSC).  RQIA aims to be more accessible, responsive and targeted in how it monitors and supports improvement in the quality of health and social care by engaging more effectively in public participation.

RQIA has developed a Public Participation Strategy which outlines how the public can get involved with RQIA in its work. The strategy aims to enshrine the best practice principles of public participation in every aspect of RQIA's work, creating an organisation that involves the public in a meaningful way.
