Registration with RQIA

RQIA was established under The Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003. Under this Order, the following health and social care services are required to register with RQIA:

  • Adult placement agencies
  • Children's homes
  • Day care settings
  • Domiciliary care agencies
  • Independent clinics
  • Independent hospitals (including private dental practices)
  • Nursing agencies
  • Nursing homes
  • Residential care homes
  • Residential family centres
  • Voluntary adoption agencies
