Staff concerned with inpatient's mental health and associated risks

Staff are concerned that the patient may be mentally disordered and as a consequence of this is behaving in a way that is causing, or is likely to cause, serious physical harm to himself or to others. A psychiatric opinion from the appropriate local liaison team should be sought to provide expert guidance on the use of the Order except if the situation is extremely urgent and there is not time available to wait for the specialist opinion.
