Current Enforcement Activity
Where RQIA identifies concerns about a particular service it may take enforcement action to ensure the safety, wellbeing and protection of those using the services. We may also take enforcement action where we identify non-compliance with regulations and/or standards.

Acute Mental Health Inpatient Centre (AMHIC), Belfast Health and Social Care Trust |
RQIA issued an Improvement Notice on 16 August 2024 to the Belfast HSC Trust in relation to safe practices, the appropriate management of risk, and the prevention and learning from adverse incidents. This notice was extended on 02 April 2025.

Northern HSC Trust Children's Service |
RQIA issued an Improvement Notice on 27 August 2024 to the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in relation to children’s services. This notice relates to care provision, governance and service planning.

Parkview Care Home |
On 5 November 2024, RQIA issued two failure to comply notices to Parkview Care Home in relation to governance and oversight arrangements and care planning. These Notices were extended on 9 January 2025.
On 25 February 2025, RQIA issued a Notice of Proposal to place two conditions on the registration, requiring that improvements are made to achieve compliance with the actions stated within the above two Failure to Comply Notices, and that monthly monitoring reports completed are shared with RQIA within five working days of the visit having been completed. A Notice of Decision was issued on 17 April 2025.

Prospect (Nursing Home) |
On 13 March 2025, RQIA issued one failure to comply notice to Prospect in relation to the health and welfare of patients. This notice was extended on 28 April 2025.

South Eastern HSC Trust Children’s Service |
RQIA issued an Improvement Notice on 5 July 2024 to a children’s service operated by the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. This notice related to staffing, governance, and the physical environment in the home. Compliance with the Improvement Notice was required by 14 January 2025. RQIA have determined the necessary improvements required as outlined in the Improvement Notice have not been achieved. RQIA subsequently issued three Failure to Comply Notices on 10 March 2025 to the service. The notices relate to staffing, governance, and behaviour management and take account of the actions which were not achieved as required by the Improvement Notice.

The Mews Supported Living Service |
On 17 April 2025 RQIA issued two failure to comply notices to The Mews Supported Living Service, regarding the quality of service provision and care delivery to service users; and a Notice of Proposal was also issued, to impose a condition on its registration in respect of further admissions to the service.
