Current Enforcement Activity

Where RQIA identifies concerns about a particular service it may take enforcement action to ensure the safety, wellbeing and protection of those using the services. We may also take enforcement action where we identify non-compliance with regulations and/or standards.

RQIA publishes details of all enforcement action at adult health and social care services on this web page - current enforcement activity is detailed below.

Alpha24 Healthcare

Two Failure to Comply Notices were issued to Alpha24 Healthcare on 20 April 2021 in relation to recruitment processes and governance.

Camlo Homes

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Camlo Homes, was issued on 03 February 2021 and a Notice of Decision was issued on 04 March 2021..  

Carn-vaddy

Three Failure to Comply Notices were issued to Carn-vaddy on 16 December 2020 and extended on 21 January 2021 in relation to governance, medicines management, and recruitment. 

A Notice of Proposal to cancel the registration of the Responsible Individual of Carn-Vaddy was issued on 05 March 2021.

Gosna Care Agency Ltd.

Following a successful application on Wednesday 23 October 2019 for urgent procedure under Article 21 of The Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003, RQIA has cancelled the registration of Ms Florence Tanyanyiwa as Registered Person of Gosna Care Agency with immediate effect.

Greenhaw Lodge Care Centre

Four Failure to Comply Notices were issued to Greenhaw Lodge Care Centre on 21 September 2020 in relation to governance, health and welfare of patients, and the fitness of the premises. 

A Notice of Proposal to place two conditions on the registration of Greenhaw Lodge Care Centre was issued on 21 September 2020 and Notice of Decision was issued on 22 October 2020 to cease admissions on a temporary basis and in relation to monthly monitoring reports.

Following a successful application on 22 September 2020 for an urgent procedure under Article 21 of The HPSS (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (NI) Order 2003, RQIA has placed conditions on the registration of Greenhaw Lodge Care Centre:

  1. That appropriate arrangements are made for all current patients, to be re-accommodated to suitable accommodation forthwith and to remain in such accommodation until such times that remedial works required in respect of the water supply, pipework internal repairs and refurbishment (the Works) are completed.
  2. That no patient should be permitted to return to the home or admitted into the home until all the Works are completed in full and without prior inspection by RQIA.
Jordan Dental Care

A Notice of Proposal to impose a condition on the registration of Jordan Dental Care, was issued on 17 November 2020 and Notice of Decision was issued on 12 February 2021.  You can view the condition of registration here.

Medcom Personnel Ltd

One Failure to Comply Notice was issued to Medcom Personnel Ltd (Domiciliary Care Agency) on 14 April 2021 in relation to recruitment processes and records.

Peniel Nursing Care Services

Condition placed on the registration of Peniel Nursing Care Services​ on 8 April 2019.  The condition on registration requires the registered provider to notify RQIA when they are proposing to become operational.  You can view the condition of registration here.

Valley Nursing Home

A notice of proposal to cancel the registration of the responsible individual for Healthcare Ireland Belfast Limited in respect of Valley Nursing Home was issued on 02 November 2020, and a notice of decision was issued on 09 December 2020.
