Current Enforcement Activity

Where RQIA identifies concerns about a particular service it may take enforcement action to ensure the safety, wellbeing and protection of those using the services. We may also take enforcement action where we identify non-compliance with regulations and/or standards.

RQIA publishes details of all enforcement action at adult health and social care services on this web page - current enforcement activity is detailed below.

Name Enforcement Action
Abbey View

Three Failure to Comply Notices were issued to Abbey View on 25 April 2022 in relation to governance and management oversight, person-centred care, monthly monitoring reports.  Compliance achieved with FTC Notice in relation to person-centred care on 27 June 2022.  The remaining two notices were extended.

Belfast HSC Trust Children’s Service

As a result of a serious risk to the care and safety of residents and staff at a service operated by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust area, on 8 April 2022, RQIA commenced enforcement action to cancel its registration, which took effect on 20 June 2022.  For further information, read our statement here. 

Divine Health Services Ltd.

A Notice of Proposal to cancel the registration of Divine Health Services Ltd. was issued on 11 May 2021. 

Lakeview Hospital

Two Improvement Notices were issued to the Western Health and Social Care Trust on 11 March 2022 in respect of Lakeview Hospital.  The notices relate to adult safeguarding and incident management, and care and treatment arrangements. For further information, read our statement here.

Provident Healthcare NI

A Notice of Proposal to impose conditions on the registration of Provident Healthcare NI was issued on 16 February 2022 and a Notice of Decision was issued on 21 March 2022. 

Sir Henry Recruitment Limited

One Failure to Comply Notice was issued to Sir Henry Recruitment Limited on 13 June 2022 and extended on 28 June 2022 in relation to governance and recruitment.

South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust

An Improvement Notice was issued to the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust on 25 May 2021 and extended on 24 December 2021 in relation to Ward 27, Downshire Hospital.  This notice relates to the mixed model of care and the ward environment.

The Model Care Home

On 13 June 2022, RQIA cancelled the registration of Model Group (NI) Limited in respect of The Model Care Home.  For further information, read our statement here.

Top Class Healthcare

A Notice of Proposal to cancel the registration of Top Class Healthcare was issued on 11 April 2022 and a Notice of Decision was issued on 9 June 2022. 

Top Class Nursing Services

Four Failure to Comply Notices were issued to Top Class Nursing Services on 27 May 2022 in relation to governance and management oversight, record keeping and monthly monitoring reports.
