Inspection Support Volunteers

RQIA involves service users and members of the public as Inspection Support Volunteers. An Inspection Support Volunteer is a member of the public who will bring their own experience, fresh insight and a public focus to our inspections and reviews. The types of activity Inspection Support Volunteers are involved in include:

  • Reviews of particular aspects of health and social care services in both hospitals and community health care setting
  • Inspections of services that are registered and inspected by RQIA, such as nursing homes, domiciliary care services and private dental practices
  • Inspections carried out by the Mental Health and Learning Disability team​
