Lay Assessors
RQIA involves service users and members of the public as volunteer lay assessors. A lay assessor is a member of the public who will bring their own experience, fresh insight and a public focus to our inspections and reviews. The types of activity lay assessors are involved in include:
- Infection prevention/hygiene inspections
- Reviews of particular aspects of health and social care services in both hospitals and community health care setting
- Inspections of services that are registered and inspected by RQIA, such as nursing homes, domiciliary care services and private dental practices
- Inspections carried out by the Mental Health and Learning Disability team
If you would like to become involved, further information and guidance is available by contacting RQIA at: info@rqia.org.uk or calling on (028) 9536 1111.
