RQIA had postponed planned inspections of health and social care services on the afternoon of Wednesday 10 June, as well as those planned for Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June 2026. This decision had been made, based on the need to ensure safety of staff, and also recognising those health and social care staff across the service who have been directly affected, and the impact on the wider services.

Reflecting on the position today (Friday 12 June 2026), RQIA will recommence its planned inspections of health and social care services from Monday 15 June 2026, taking cognisance of the situation and impact for individual service providers in doing so. For inspections that are announced and known to the provider, RQIA Inspectors will make contact in advance to consider any issues that may impact on the inspection. For those inspections that are unannounced, the Inspector will have taken account of any intelligence received in relation to the service.   On arrival at the premises inspectors will engage with the Manager to consider any issues that may affect the inspection, and make reasonable decisions based on the presenting situation.
